Role of Rahu & Ketu in Vedic Astrology (In Native’s Horoscope):
These shadow planets are Karmic in nature and through their house placements they show the life path / mission in this incarnation for a native. The task of Rahu & Ketu is to show the areas where we have completed our soul enlightenment and the areas that needs more work to achieve salvation. Rahu is about where we need to work in this lifetime, spend our energies, and improve ourselves whereas Ketu is about what we have already experienced in previous birth, ignored or fulfilled in last incarnation (say what our soul is already born with or use to so we just don’t care)."
Rahu
is desirous in nature as it is the head of the demon. The ever greedy, master
deceptor, illusionist, and magician come to our life as disguising in the form
of friend, lover, stranger, or tempting elements. It however, chalks out the
areas where we need to work, focus, and achieve to excel in life’s mission.
Hence, Rahu can be both good or bad depending on the mission that we choose,
road that we follow, and vices we adopt or not (last one is conditional).
The North Node or Rahu always gives us two choices
(good or bad). How? Why? Rahu gives
desire to achieve, it gives us ambition, it makes us hungry for more, and it gives
us reason to go after something. Rahu always tries to express itself from the
house where it’s positioned, planets it’s conjoined, and disposition it has by amplifying
their results. So, indirectly it gives us the urge to learn, cultivate, and master
the signification of the house it’s placed. So, Rahu Dasa can bring great
success, unexpected gains, sudden rise, tremendous fame, or surprising come back.
So, these 3 points clarify how good Rahu can be… We
have just tried to dis-repute him; if you are thinking this! Stop, it can be
bad brat too.
Rahu
was the demon that tried to snoop into Gods area by tricking even Lord Vishnu…
So, to achieve anything it can take all wrong routes, shortcuts, and deceive to
join the elite club. So, it can bring out the worst or trouble in human (especially
in bad houses or conjoined or aspect on Moon, Sun, Venus, & Mars) by its
nature to achieve before it’s fully prepared for it.
Note: - That’s another reason why
Rahu Dasa in early age especially in teenage or youth can be troublesome
(leading to addiction, broken relation, frustration, multiple sexual relations,
etc).
Ketu
is karaka of detachment and spirituality as being the body without a head, its
directionless (prime reason for detachment). So, a body without a head is sure
to suffer as there is no direction, thought process, decision making ability,
and strategy executing brain power. Therefore, Ketu is famous for giving
confusion, lack in decision making ability, pessimist about self strategies, and
aim directionless. It become more pronounce when Ketu Moon are conjoined
(remember moon represents mind).
But Ketu, the South Node gives sufferings due to being headless,
but the suffering makes us realize the illusion of world (Maya is bound to get
detach after death). So, through sufferings it makes us surrender before Lord
of Lords. Finally this surrender brings us relief, mental peace, inner
satisfaction, and makes us proceed towards salvation. So, the above reason
makes it detached and spiritual.
Note:
- Ketu periods are good in late age; but
in teen age or youth it can be problematic or suffering prone, as the soul as
well as mind is not ready for such transformation.
